The Grinch Who...Uploaded Christmas? 01/03/2011
As I have gotten older, I notice that all of my wish lists for the holidays have been technology-based. Don't get me wrong - I love the holidays and I love the "holiday spirit." I loved receiving all of the holiday cards in the mail, eating home-made cookies, and spreading joy. Aware of my consumerist-american-tendencies, I hate to admit that all of my favorite "gifts" this year were...well...related to technology: 1. Google TV 2. Nintendo Wii (with the addition of streaming Netflix!) 3. Headset with microphone I relished digging into the packages, ignoring the instructions, and just plugging in. I spent hours problem-solving. (I must admit that my glorious husband did all the complex connections of wires. I did help him move the TV out to access the plugs..) The point is this: I am thirty-one and I was jonesing for my new tech toys. I have to wonder how my students, all "technology natives" feel. Are they as engaged and fascinated by innovations as I am? And what can I do to "connect" (sorry - bad pun) to their interests? Add Comment First Post! 01/03/2011
